If there is one thing I want to tell you about me in here is that I work hard. Be it studying at Stevens on 100% scholarship or taking extra course load than a regular graduate student in the hopes of graduating early or getting a perfect 4.0 GPA in the very first semester, I work hard, and I make sure my work is channeled towards achieving my goals. 

I take the initiative, which I have realized is a remarkably underrated quality. Having extra course load in the fall, but still not shying away from taking the lead in assigning project responsibilities to your group members, giving them a sense of direction on what to do, making sure you cater to their strengths and weaknesses are some of the tasks I performed as group leader in all the five courses. My previous boss at Afiniti wrote a remark once, “The best thing about Asad is, if I assign him on a client, I don’t need to worry about escalations on that particular client. Asad will make sure none of the escalations reach me, he will handle them to the best of his abilities, and will actually reduce my work, which any supervisor wants from his/her fellows”. 

While most of the students who pursue master’s in data science or business analytics, come from computer science background, I am unique in that respect that I am from a business background. I have my undergrad in Business Administration, with specialization in Marketing, from one of the top business schools of Pakistan. Because of my understanding of finance and marketing, I can better assess the financial and practical impact of my decisions as a data analytics intern. Hence, I humbly offer to be the best of both the worlds; I know coding and I can quantify the impact that coding will make on your financial statements. |  

I have 3+ experience of using SQL and R-studio for on-the-job tasks which ranged from preparing visualization reports for clients to cleaning raw data to writing stored procedures to join different datasets. With a certificate of "Data Scientist track in R" from Datacamp, and newly acquired Python and SAS knowledge through projects and coursework during my masters, I am confident that I will prove to be a useful asset in this project.
